When Christians speak about sin, our desire should never be to shame, reject, or devalue people. Rather, it should flow from the same love that compels us to share the good news of Jesus Christ. We recognise that everyone, ourselves included, falls short of God's perfect standard and is equally in need of His mercy and grace.Together, we reflect on Paul's words in Romans 12:18: *”If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”* This verse challenges believers to pursue peace, seek healthy relationships, extend forgiveness, and model the love of Christ, even when disagreements remain. While we cannot control the responses of others, we are responsible for reflecting the character of Jesus in our words, actions, and attitudes.We also discuss how Christians can engage in difficult conversations with wisdom, gentleness, and truth, resisting the temptation to mirror the anger and division so prevalent in today's world. Rather than allowing politics, culture, or personal opinions to define us, we are called to let Scripture shape our hearts and to point people to the ultimate source of hope—Jesus Christ.In a world desperate for unity and authentic love, the Church has an opportunity to be a light in the darkness.
